Welcome and housekeeping items. Students and tutors are sent to break our rooms. A typical student to tutor ratio is 3:1.
Active engagement tutoring breakout group. Tutors have various options based on the students’ English proficiency and engagement level: some students are shy. Tutors can either lead discussions based on (a) short videos they watch with students from the library of videos we provide; (b) read an article: articles change weekly to ensure the topics are relevant so the tutors are asked to use live links we provide; (c ) read a short story from the library of stories we provide; (e) lead a theme discussion using the prompts provided in their onboarding package.
Closing discussions and exit breakout rooms to return to main zoom meeting.
The students and tutors share high lights of their break out room discussions. This gives an opportunity for tutors to learn more about the students and each other. End of session.
