Our tutors are middle and high school students who care about helping global community. They are caring, smart, knowledgeable and fun young adults. They are making a real impact on lives of others.
YES! You are the tutor we need. The goal is to practice conversational English and get Ukrainian students comfortable conversing with native English language speakers. Ukrainian children have studied English for a couple of years and are eager to talk to you.
We meet on Zoom every Saturday morning from 9 am to 10 am PST and ask that once you committed to join us as a tutor, you notify us if you are unable to make to a weekly session (we know life happens). Minimum tutor commitment is 3 months. A number of our most dedicated awesome tutors have been showing up and leading sessions for over 2 years.
Absolutely! There are one to one sessions that take place during the times convenient to both, a tutor and a student. Send us an email, we will connect you with a Ukrainian student and help set up Zoom links.
YES! Each tutor earns 1 hour of volunteer hour weekly by leading a breakout session on Saturdays. If you are leading one to one sessions, the number of hours earned will depend on the number of sessions you hold. We provide tools to track volunteer hours.
NO. All the resources you need to lead each session will be provided to you once you sign up.
Be sure you have access to a computer and ability to join the meeting using Zoom. Once you ensure your camera and microphone are working - you are good to go!
We provide Zoom training resources (be sure to request). One to one Zoom 101 training sessions can be scheduled as well. Let us know what you need and we will support you.
After you sign up to be a tutor, be on a lookout for a WELCOME EMAIL which will provide you all the information you need to be successful such as Zoom links, resources to lead breakout room discussions, Student Progress Evacuation Forms, directions on how to track your Volunteering hours and much more.

We tutor middle and high school Ukrainian students that have a basic knowledge of English and are able to participate in a simple conversation. This program currently supports only kids that reside in the Ukraine. We are in the process of developing a program to support Ukrainian kids impacted by the war that relocated to different countries. Please send us an email if you have any questions - we would like an opportunity to help you.
If you would like to participate in either group or one to one sessions, please send us an email, be sure to provide the requested information and indicate what type of sessions you are interested in. We will reach out to you to determine your English proficiency level and discuss the next steps.
We hold GROUP sessions every Saturday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. Ukrainian time. We also offer one to one sessions during the times convenient for both a tutor and a student.
You will need access to a computer, a tablet or a phone. You will need to know how to use Zoom as our meetings take place over Zoom. If you do not know how to use Zoom, we can teach you. Just let us know how we can best support you!
